5 signs your website is outdated
Your website is often the first thing a new customer sees. If it looks abandoned, that customer may go to a competitor without you ever knowing. These are the five clearest signs it's time for a redesign.
1. It looks bad on mobile
Open your website on your phone. If you have to zoom in to read, the buttons are tiny or the menu doesn't work properly, you're losing most of your visitors, because almost everyone looks for businesses on their phone.
2. Customers can't book or ask for a quote
If the only way to get in touch is to call during opening hours, every call you miss is a customer who leaves. Online booking or a simple form keeps working for you at night and at weekends.
3. The information is out of date
Prices from years ago, expired offers, opening hours that are no longer yours or a "last updated: 2014" in the footer. All of it suggests the business doesn't pay attention to detail.
4. It's slow to load
If it takes more than a few seconds to appear, many people give up and go back. Old websites often load huge images and code that is no longer needed.
5. The legal pages are missing
In Spain, a business website must have a legal notice, a privacy policy and, if it uses non-essential cookies, a cookie notice. If yours is missing any of these, it's worth fixing.
What now?
A redesign doesn't mean starting from scratch or losing what you have. You can keep the same domain, the same email and your Google rankings, and change everything else.
